Родился в 1945 году. Окончил Биолого-почвенный факультет МГУ в 1968, затем аспирантуру при кафедре молекулярной биологии того же факультета . Работает в НИИ ФХБ с 1971 (в 1975-1977 гг. - в Институте белка АН СССР). Кандидат биологических наук с 1978 г., доктор биологических наук с 1999. Профессор с 2011 г. Член-корр. РАЕН. Опубликовал около 90 статей в научных журналах.
