The department was found in 1966 by support of acad. A.N. Belozersky and prof. I.Berezin who headed it; since 1968 to present time department is leaded by Z. Zalesova.
Main task of the division is support of scientific research of other departments of the Institute and support in preparing works for publish. Also citation reports for research fellows are prepared to every qualification in the Scientific Council. Whole Institute citation and effectivity of distinct departments and distinct fellows are collected and analysed here.
In the department a large set of scientific magazines were collected in paper. You can check for exact issue of some journal here.
The catalog of links to selected scientific journals in the area of physico-chemical biology and some close branches of science (chemistry, biology, physics, medicine and math) was created. Institute's website was created and supported in the department.
In xerox room of the department any fellow can print black-and-white and colour documents, scan and copy some papers.
The division was one of first who started scientometric researches of information flows in different branches of science (biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology). It was first in our country who started regular analysis of researcher's citation in the Institute [M. Belikova, 1976; L. Guskova, 1982, 1989, 1992]. Department studied the history of discovery of nucleic acids and development in ideas about their functions, discover of genetic function of DNA and forming of major bases of molecular biology [Z. Zalesova, 1983]. The contribution to molecular biology school of the institute founder A.N. Belozersky was studied with big attention.
