ISTINA zhivotnoe
In 1999, graduated from the Department of Molecular Biology, Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University, master's thesis was devoted to the study of transposable elements Drosophila melanogaster (Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology, RAS). During graduate school in Belozersky Institute of Physico-Chemical Biology, MSU, under the supervision of prof. I.N. Shatsky began to study the initiation of translation in mammals. In 2003 defended Ph.D. thesis on "Reconstruction of the translational initiation complexes with eukaryotic mRNA having structured 5'-UTRs” (specialty - molecular biology). Since 2004, directs his own projects, supported by the RFBR grants and a grant from the Russian President. In 2006, an internship in the laboratory of W.C. Merrick (Cleveland, USA). Since 2009, heads a research group dealing with the search for new protein factors and molecular mechanisms of protein synthesis in eukaryotes. Author of more than two dozen papers in international journals, winner of numerous awards for young scientists in the field of molecular biology (including RAS Medal for Young Scientists, Academia Europaea Prize, Russian Science Support Foundation Award, Deripaska grants for young scientists of MSU, and others). Has been teaching at MSU Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatic. Represents Belozersky Institute of Physico-Chemical Biology and Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatic in the Council of Young Scientists of Moscow State University.
